The Oklahoma chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists honored the best journalistic work in the state at its annual awards banquet Saturday, April 30, at the Reed Conference Center in Midwest City. The awards banquet honors Oklahoma’s top newspaper, print, broadcast and online journalists and public relations professionals.
The Bobby Dodd Institute in Atlanta honored Cassie S. Mitchell, Ph.D., with the 2016 Circle of Excellence Award for making significant contributions to the lives of individuals with disabilities. The award was presented March 2 at the BDI Breakfast with Champions at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta.
Former student established Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Several women were missing from the hot seat – and the entire evening on The Bachelor Season 20, Episode 11 “The Women Tell All.” Contestants returned to the ABC reality show this week to rehash tales of heartache and engage in a few more heated exchanges.
All proceeds benefit victims of parade tragedy
The 2015 Oklahoma State University Homecoming Yearbook is available to purchase online and at several Stillwater locations. The O’Colly student newspaper staff developed the publication. A special section of the book is dedicated to those who lost their lives when a vehicle crashed into a crowd at the annual parade. All proceeds from the yearbook sales will be donated to the victims of the homecoming parade tragedy.
Donate cold weather gear
Even with temperatures rising this week, more cold weater is predicted. Clean out your closets and drawers to donate warm coats, sweaters, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves and other cold weather gear. The Rotaract Club of Oklahoma State University is winding up its first winter clothes drive tomorrow.
