The month of June 71 years ago was not a picnic at the beach for Oklahoma State University alumnus Dr. William J. Goodwin. The Battle of Normandy, code named Operation Overlord, had begun June 6, 1944. That infamous day in history would go on to simply be known as D-Day. Soon after D-Day, the young brave sergeant landed on Omaha Beach.
Tonight’s the night, OSU grad Evan Newpher appears on American Ninja Warrior with his zookeeping buddies from Tulsa. The show airs from 7-9 p.m. Monday on NBC. The three are in it together, journeying to Houston to qualify earlier this year.
And he does it again! OSU alumnus Stan Clark recently opened up MoJo's Rock'n'Bowl Grill, a new addition to the Joe's family of fun entertainment. Good tunes, delicious American grub and four lanes of bowling are some things that can be found at this fresh, family-friendly establishment. Originally the home of Joseppi's Italian Kitchen, MoJo's is a place where everyone can have fun.
The third time may be the charm for Monica Taylor and The Red Dirt Ramblers. They are planning to sing at The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University this Sunday, June 7.

What are your Thursday evening plans this summer? Oklahoma State University is hosting Summer on Plaza every Thursday through June 25 starting at 6 p.m. on the north side of the Student Union. From live music to water games and great movies to extended shopping and dining hours in the Student Union, there's something for everyone at this free event. It is open to the Stillwater community and OSU students, faculty and staff.
Professional wrestlers, a Harlem Globetrotter and an assortment of Olympic athletes including gymnast Jonathan Horton and bobsledder Johnny Quinn have tackled the American Ninja Warrior obstacle course. These world-class athletes have made being a ninja look easy in the past six seasons of the television reality show.
What better way to experience one's art than when it's out in the real world for everyone to see? Sallie McCorkle, professor of art at Oklahoma State University and a founding director of the Doel Reed Center for the Arts, ventured to The Botanic Garden at OSU to set up her 3-Dimensional Design students' whirligigs.
What are you doing this summer? The American Red Cross has a way for students to earn money for college and serve the community — hosting a blood drive. High school and college students, ages 16-24, who host a blood drive are eligible to win a $2,500 scholarship through the American Red Cross Leaders Save Lives program. The blood drive must be held between June 1 and August 31, 2015.
